As part of ongoing sports festival for Kashmir division colleges sponsored by department of Higher Education, Inter College Womens Cricket Rolling Trophy was organized by AAAM Degree College Bemina at SP College Ground Srinagar on Tuesday.
Dean Academic Affairs Cluster University Srinagar Prof. M.Y. Peerzada inaugurated the tournament in presence of Principal AAAM Degree College Bemina, Principal SP College, senior faculty members and members of the College Sports committee.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. M.Y. Peerzada encouraged the participants and highlighted the importance of sports and other physical activities for the development of reflexes.
Principal AAAM Degree College Bemina Prof. Nasreen Aman hailed the participation of students and hoped that such events can help them in producing some champions.
Principal SP College praised the participation of girls in sports activities and ensured their support for such events.
The inaugural match was played between Govt. College Womens Nawakadal and Govt. Degree College, Pattan. GDC Pattan after winning the toss elected to bat first and scored a total of 97 runs with the help of Saima’s unbeaten 40 runs.
For GCW, Nawakadal Munazira sclaped four wickets while Sabreena scalped three to restrict the opposite team below 100 runs.
Chasing a moderate target of 98 Runs, GWC Nawa Kadal achieved the feat in 13.4 overs by losing only four wickets with the help of Sabreena’s unbeaten 26 runs.
For GDC Pattan, Saima took 03 wickets. Sabreena of GWC Nawa kadal was adjudged player of the match for her brilliant all round performance.
