Srinagar:

PDP candidate for Srinagar Lok Sabha seat Nazir Ahmad Khan Monday lashed out at opposition National Conference and accused the party of ruining the lives of mainstream and separatist politicians in the State.
Addressing the workers convention at party headquarters, here, Khan accused the NC of being the mother of all the problems faced by people of India, Pakistan and Kashmir.
“The NC has also ruined the lives of mainstream politicians in the state. The separatist leaders are also all bearing the brunt of the wrongdoings of NC,” he said.
Khan termed his opponent and NC President Farooq Abdullah as a “discredited politician”.
The PDP candidate alleged that he has been a member of the present assembly for 5-minutes after his name was announced as winner from the Beerwah constituency, which is now “fraudulently represented” by NC working President Omar Abdullah.
Omar defeated Khan in 2014 Assembly elections from Beerwah constituency. Khan had contested the election on Congress ticket.
Khan said NC is now only surviving because of support from Congress.
“The party (NC) must admit that they are a handicapped party, whose leader Omar Abdullah admitted being choked by him during the 2014 assembly elections,” he said.
Describing PDP as party of “courteous and serious people”, Khan termed Farooq as a man, “who never respected his youth or old-age”.
“Even when we ask NC leaders about Farooq they say that he must be dancing somewhere. The Abdullah family is not concerned about welfare or good being of Kashmiris,” he said.
While appealing people to vote for him, Khan said the Muslim voters of Deoband in Uttar Pradesh had seen the bluff of so-called secular parties, who used to create panic among them that if they don’t vote against the BJP, then they will be in trouble.
The convention was attended by PDP vice president and MP Muzaffar Hussain Baig, General Secretary Nizamudin Bhat, Minister for Education and MLA Amira Kadal Altaf Bukhari, Minister for Rural Development Abdul Haq Khan, Minister for Sports Imran Raza Ansari, Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone, MoS Helath Asiya Nqash, MLC Khurshid Alam, former MLA Beerwah Dr. Shafi and other party leaders.
