Kashmir reported 33 fresh coronavirus positive cases including a one-year-old child and a seven-year-old girl from Shopian, while Jammu recorded seven COVID-19 cases, bringing J&K’s infection tally to 1489.
The 33 cases were recorded in Valley’s three testing labs during the past 24 hours.
The Viral Diagnostic and Research Lab (VDRL) of SKIMS, Srinagar tested 2088 samples of which 10 returned positive.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan said the 10 cases include three each from Baramulla and Kupwara, two from Shopian, and one each from Srinagar and Budgam.
At the microbiology lab of the Chest Disease (CD) Hospital, Srinagar, 756 samples were tested during the past 24 hours of which seven returned positive.
Nodal Officer for COVID-19 measures, GMC Srinagar, Dr M Salim Khan said three cases are from Ananatnag, and one a patient admitted at LD Hospital who was later shifted to SKIMS Bemina.
“One woman from Kargil was admitted at SMHS hospital with pneumonia in the lower limbs,” he said.
Khan said at the CD Hospital testing lab, 800 fresh samples had been collected on Friday while 166 samples were under process.
The coronavirus testing lab of SKIMS Medical College and Hospital (MCH) Bemina tested 378 samples of which 16 returned positive.
“All positive cases are from Chatawattan, Shopian including a one-year-old child and a seven-year-old girl,” officials of SKIMS, Bemina said.
The government said of the 11,48,59 test results available, 11,33,70 returned negative and 1489 positive, which include 749 active positive cases.
Till date, 720 have recovered and been discharged including 36 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 1,28,517 persons had been put under observation including 32,077 in home quarantine, 749 in hospital isolation, and 73 in hospital quarantine while 25,132 people are under home surveillance and 70,466 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Anantnag has 266 cases, followed by Kulgam with 193, Srinagar 176, Bandipora 138, Baramulla 132, Shopian 127, Kupwara 128, Budgam 63, Ganderbal 27, and Pulwama 21.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 68 positive cases followed by Kathua with 40, Udhampur 33, Ramban 30, Samba 20, Rajouri 10, Kishtwar seven, Poonch five, Reasi four and Doda one.
J&K has so far recorded 20 deaths to coronavirus of which 18 were reported from Kashmir.
