Srinagar, March 20:

Terming the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and rightwing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as anti-Islamic and anti-Kashmir forces, newly inducted Congress leader Tariq Hameed Karra Monday said he would fight these forces till his last breath as fighting them was ‘Jihad’.
“This is the time for Jihad,” he said referring to the by-polls for Srinagar-Biudgam and Anantnag-Pulwama parliamentary constituencies.
The by-polls for the two constituencies are scheduled for April 9 and 12.
Srinagar-Budgam parliamentary seat had fallen vacant after he resigned from PDP, which he co-founded with the two-time chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and her daughter and the incumbent chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, and as the Member of Parliament.
“Stopping these fascist forces is a religious duty for me and religion comes first to me and the nation second,” he said. “I’m a proud Muslim first and then a Kashmiri.”
He said his services were available for the NC-Congress candidates for the two parliamentary constituencies as the two parties had to fight against all the forces that were against Islam and Kashmiris.
