11 more die in 24 hrs, tally 206
JK reports 493 fresh cases
Eleven more persons died of COVID-19 in J&K during the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 206, officials said.
An 85-year-old man from Ladoora Baramulla, who was referred from GMC Baramulla as a diagnosed case of COVID-19, died at SKIMS, Srinagar.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan said the deceased was also suffering from multiple ailments including hypertension and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
“The patient was shifted here for ventilator support. He died around 6 am on Wednesday,” he said.
A 60-year-old man from Hathlango area of Sopore in Baramulla who was also diagnosed with coronavirus died at the institute on Wednesday.
“He was suffering from underlying hypertension, hypothyroid and community-acquired pneumonia. He died at 7 am,” the medical superintendent said.
A 52-year-old coronavirus positive man from Lal Bazaar Srinagar admitted at SKIMS Srinagar on July 13 died Wednesday morning.
Jan said the deceased was suffering from community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
A 60-year-old woman from Sopore area of Baramulla, who was admitted to the institute on July 13 with subarachnoid hemorrhage, died on Wednesday.
A 77-year-old man from New Colony Pulwama, who was admitted at SKIMS on July 11 as a case of CAP, died at the hospital.
A 70-year-old coronavirus patient from Elahi Bagh, Srinagar admitted at the institute on July 5 with hypertension, CAP, shock, and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome died at the institute.
“He was coronavirus positive and was admitted in the infectious disease block,” Jan said.
A 60-year-old man from Saida Kadal, Srinagar also died at the institute.
The man was admitted on July 14 in the hospital’s medical emergency.
A 70-year-old person from Rathsun area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district tested positive for coronavirus after death.
A 65-year-old man from Khrewan, who was admitted on July 4, died at GMC Anantnag Tuesday night.
A 65-year-old man from Baramulla, admitted at SMHS Hospital on July 9, died on Wednesday at the hospital.
The deceased was suffering from multiple ailments including diabetes and bilateral pneumonia.
A 35-year-old man from Nowshehra area of Rajouri posted in Baramulla died at a hospital here.
With the 11 fresh casualties, the death toll due to coronavirus in J&K has soared to 206.
In Kashmir, 493 fresh cases were reported on Wednesday, the government officials said.
