JK reports 155 fresh cases, tally rises to 2601

Nine pregnant women, doctor among 56 fresh cases in Kashmir

Jammu Kashmir reported 155 COVID-19 positive cases on Monday including 99 from Jammu and 56 from Kashmir division, taking the total number of cases to 2601 of which 946 have recovered.
Today’s cases include 53 from Ramban followed by Doda with 21, Anantnag 12, Kupwara 11, Srinagar 10, Jammu eight, Baramulla and Kulgam six each, Shopian and Kathua five each, Pulwama and Kishtwar four each, Rajouri three, Ganderbal, Poonch and Udhampur two each and one from Samba.
Of these cases, 33 tested positive at the microbiology lab of the Chest Disease (CD) Hospital Srinagar, which tested 910 samples during the past 24 hours.
Nodal Officer for COVID-19 measures, GMC Srinagar, Dr M Salim Khan said the cases include nine pregnant women that include three each from Baramulla and Kulgam, two from Ganderbal and one from Anantnag.
“Three other positive cases are from Baramulla that include one from Pattan, 10 from Anantnag and one is a male doctor of GDC Srinagar, a resident of Srinagar,” he said.
Similarly, the Viral Diagnostic and Research Lab (VDRL) of SKIMS Srinagar Monday tested 884 samples of which 21 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan said the cases include 19 from Kupwara, eight from Srinagar, and one each from Baramulla, Shopian, and Pulwama.
Likewise, the coronavirus testing lab of SKIMS Medical College and Hospital (MCH) Bemina tested 430 samples in the past 24 hours of which 12 cases returned positive.
Officials said the 12 cases include eight from Budgam and four from Shopian.
The government said of the 1,76,309 test results available, 1,73,708 returned negative and 2601 positive which include 1624 active positive cases while 946 have recovered and been discharged including 19 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 1,76,805 persons had been put under observation including 38,276 in home quarantine, 1624 in hospital isolation and 38 in hospital quarantine while 48,964 people are under home surveillance and 87,872 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Anantnag has 350 cases, followed by Kulgam with 300, Srinagar 290, Kupwara 279, Baramulla 238, Shopian 175, Bandipora 146, Budgam 110, Pulwama 77, and Ganderbal 34.
In Jammu division, Jammu and Ramban districts have 144 positive cases each followed by Kathua with 78, Udhampur 67, Samba 44, Poonch 40, Rajouri 33, Reasi 14, Kishtwar 12, and Doda 26.
So far, J&K has recorded 31 deaths to coronavirus of which 27 were reported from Kashmir.
