Jammu Kashmir Monday recorded 144 COVID-19 cases including 99 from Kashmir and 45 from Jammu, taking the tally of infected people to 7237.
Sunday’s cases include 29 from Pulwama, 18 from Shopian, Srinagar 17, Anantnag 15, Kathua 13, Baramulla 10, Samba eight, Rajouri seven, Reasi five, Budgam four, Jammu, Udhampur and Doda three each, Bandipora and Poonch two each, and Kulgam, Ganderbal, Ramban one each.
Of these cases, 62 tested positive at the Viral Diagnostic and Research Lab (VDRL) of SKIMS Srinagar, which tested 1771 samples during the past 24 hours.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan said the fresh cases include 27 from Pulwama, 16 from Shopian, Anantnag 10, three paramilitary CRPF men, two from Srinagar, and one each from Baramulla, Kupwara, Ganderbal and Kulgam.
The COVID-19 testing lab of the SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, Bemina Monday tested 572 samples of which eight, all from Srinagar, returned positive.
The coronavirus dedicated hospital has so far admitted 610 positive patients of which 479 have been discharged while 127 are undergoing treatment.
The government said of the total 3,58,530 test results available, 3,51,293 returned negative and 7237 positive, which include 2557 active positive cases while 4585 have recovered and been discharged including 269 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 2,78,689 persons had been put under observation including 40,312 in home quarantine, 2557 in hospital isolation, and 34 in hospital quarantine while 47,145 people are under home surveillance and 1,88,546 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar tops the list with 891 cases followed by Baramulla with 816, Kulgam 767, Shopian 750, Anantnag 650, Kupwara 536, Pulwama 469, Budgam 397, Bandipora 291, and Ganderbal 91.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 336 cases followed by Udhampur with 272, Ramban 217, Kathua 227, Samba 144, Poonch 123, Rajouri 111, Doda 77, Reasi 45, and Kishtwar 27.
Jammu Kashmir has so far reported 95 deaths to coronavirus pandemic of which 84 have been reported from Kashmir division.
