Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Shri Vijay Kumar (IPS) Sunday visited North Kashmir district of Baramulla and Sopore and reviewed the security situation.
IGP Kashmir was accompanied by DIG NKR Shri Mohd Sulaiman Chaudhary (IPS) and other senior officers of Army, CAPF and Armed Police.
While interacting with the officials at District Police Office Baramulla, IGP Kashmir reviewed the general security situation of the area and took stock of the preparedness and security arrangements for upcoming Republic Day celebrations. IGP Kashmir also discussed the security measures in place for forthcoming VIP visits. IGP Kashmir stressed on the officers to ensure synergy and better coordination among the forces working at the ground level.
IGP Kashmir urged upon the officers to strengthen the general security grid of the area and ensure peace in the area.
At Sopore, IGP Kashmir while interacting with the officers from Army, Police & CAPF, discussed various security measures taken for maintenance of peace in the area. IGP Kashmir reviewed the general security situation of the area and also reviewed the preparations in place for forthcoming Republic Day.
He stressed for enhanced coordination between different security forces deployed on ground.
IGP Kashmir urged the officials to prioritize the redressal of grievances. He said that department is keen to implement the measures taken for the welfare of the police officials and provide several other facilities which will help the officials to discharge their duties more efficiently.
