Srinagar, July 12:

Health and Medical Education Department has warned 85 doctors, most of them medical officers, who are reported to be on unauthorized absence from duties.
Health department has asked them to report to their respective directorates before 24 July.
“Lists of the absent doctors were furnished by Directorate of Health Services Kashmir and Jammu to the Administrative Department wherein it was intimated that despite serving the notices to the doctors they have remained away from their duties,” reads a notice issued by the health department.
It said that after the examination of the cases in the Administrative Department, it has been decided to give last and final opportunity to these doctors to report back to respective directorates.
The 85 doctors include 37 (8 consultants, 25 medical officers, 4 dental surgeons) from Kashmir division and 48 (41 medical officers, 6 consultants and one dental surgeon) doctors from Jammu division.
“They should report back to their duties before 24 July, failing which it shall be presumed that the concerned doctors have nothing to say in their defense,” the notice said.
The department has decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against these doctors under Article 128 of CSR.
