A crucial meeting of Shia-Suni Coordination Committee and the Civil Society members of Tregam, Sumbal was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Karwan-e-Islami (KI) patron Alama Ghulam Rasool Hami in which threadbare discussion was held on the brutal and barbaric rape of three-year-old girl of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A KI statement said the meeting expressed its serious concern over the incident and stressed that time demands that the sectarian harmony must be maintained at all levels and the designs of some vested interests who are hell-bent to create a sectarian divide by present the incident in a wrong manner, should be defeated on all fronts.
Speaking on the occasion, Alama Hami said that all the members of the Coordination Committee and the Civil Society Tregam, irrespective of their sectarian ideology stand united in this hour of grief and shock and demand an exemplary punishment to the guilty at the earliest.
Alama Hami said that there can be no compromise with the justice and every heart of Kashmir is awaiting justice for the three-year-old victim.
The meeting, according to Alama Hami, decided unanimously that all sorts of support will be given to the divisional, local administration and the police so that investigations are taken to its logical conclusion in a transparent manner.
Alama Hami while calling for a unity on all fronts stated that on one hand, people are busy in the fasting month of Ramdhan to seek the forgiveness and blessings of Almighty Allah but some people with ill intentions are busy in acts that can bring the heads of every one having conscience down in shame. He said some elements are out to trigger a sectarian war in Kashmir but the only way to defeat those elements is to stand united and steadfast on all fronts so that these elements don’t succeed in their evil designs. All the participants of the meeting agreed to forge unity, remain united and to defeat the elements trying to divide people on sectarian lines.
