Expressing serious concern over after abolishing Lakhanpur Check post, Kashmir Economic Alliance Vice Chairman Ajaz Shahdhar in a statement
Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) Wednesday said that government is mobile GST squad is harassing traders by stopping their vehicles at different places on highway.
In a statement, KEA Vice Chairman Ajaz Shahdhar said the officials are also seizing their goods, documents and shift the vehicles to old Commercial tax vigilance office Jammu for physical verification.
“The vehicles are held there for 10 to 15 unnecessarily without seizer memo and impose huge penalties to different dealers without any notice or assessment.”
He said the Valley traders had suffered huge losses in the past few months due curfew, internet clampdown.
“The traders had now started their business to survive but by such unjust actions, government is hell bent on afflicting the valley trade. We are already facing huge economic crisis due to frequent closure of national highway, this harassment compounds our problems,” he said.
