Hundreds of Foreign Medical Graduate Examination aspirants from Kashmir who completed their degrees from Bangladesh are worried after board announced to conduct the examination next month.
FMGE aspirants who did MBBS from Bangladesh told Rising Kashmir that they passed the final professional examination in March 2020 and they are yet to recieve degree certificates from their University.
Due to international travel ban following Covid-19 pandemic the aspirants are yet to get their degree certificates which on the other hand is compulsory document for appearing in FMG examination.
"If the board has decided to conduct examination then aspirants should not be asked to get degree certificates which is impossible due to current travel ban, said an aspirant. He asked: "How can an aspirant travel to Bangladesh to get his certificates when international travel ban is enforced?
One aspirant Hadiqa Hilal said: "Due to the COVID pandemic and international travel restrictions I couldn't go back to Dhaka to collect my degree certificates even the Dhaka University could not issue it. I would now suggest board to accept a marksheet in place of the degree for proof."
Hadiqa said she is worried about her career and does not want to lose a year.
The aspirants appealed Medical Council of India to intervene and issue relaxation orders immediately.
