Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Sunday condoled the sad demise of Dr Mohd Ashraf Mir from Pampore who died of COVID-19. The said doctor was presently working as Senior Medical Officer at District Hospital Pulwama.
President DAK, Dr Suhail Naik said, “Dr Ashraf was a frontline COVID warrior who contracted the virus while on duty and was shifted to Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) when he developed complications about 2 weeks back.”
DAK said that he was later admitted in the Intensive Care Unit(ICU) there as he could not maintain Oxygen saturation due to bilateral pneumonia and lost the battle of life early morning Sunday.
DAK said that the entire medical fraternity is saddened with the loss of the deceased doctor.
Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Dr Mir, highlighting his immense contributions in mitigating peoples suffering amid the prevalent pandemic.
Meanwhile, National Conference MP from Anantnag, Hasnain Masoodi also condoled the demise of Dr Mir, who died of COVID-19.
“Dr Ashraf was an inspiration to the frontline health workers engaged in the battle against COVID-19 and a martyr who sacrificed himself in the line of duty,” Masoodi said.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) expressed profound grief over the demise of Dr Ashraf Mir.
In a condolence message, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir condoled the demise of Dr Ashraf Mir and said the deceased sacrificed his life while serving his patients.
In another statement, Farooq Kuthoo, Chief Spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir RTI Movement also condoled the death Dr Mir saying, “Dr Mir was a warrior in real sense whose services as a doctor will be remembered forever.”
