A CRPF man and a civilian were injured after militants lobbed a grenade at a joint deployment of forces in south Kashmir's Tral area on Sunday, Police said.
A Police statement said the incident occurred Sunday morning when a joint team of Police and CRPF were patrolling near the Sumo Stand Tral.
“Two persons were injured in the blast including a CRPF man of 139 Bn CRPF and a civilian Mehraj-ud-Din Sheikh, who received minor injuries. Both the injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment,” Police said.
The sound of the blast was heard in the entire town and people ran for safety, halting the traffic movement for some time in the area.
Meanwhile, Police registered a case in this regard under the relevant sections of the law.
“Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this crime,’ Police said in a statement.
