1590 fresh cases take infection tally to 58,244
Eighteen more persons died of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 932 while Wednesday witnessed 1590 fresh cases taking the total infection count to 58,244, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include 11 from Jammu division and seven from Kashmir division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to novel coronavirus has soared to 932 in Jammu Kashmir, which includes 747 from Kashmir and 185 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 256 deaths, Baramulla 114, Budgam 74, Pulwama 62, Kupwara 60, Anantnag 54, Kulgam 41, Shopian and Bandipora 30 each, and Ganderbal 26.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 106 deaths, Rajouri 19, Doda 15, Kathua 13, Samba nine, Udhampur seven, Poonch six, Ramban four, and three each from Reasi and Kishtwar.
On Wednesday, J&K reported 1590 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 832 from Jammu division and 758 from Kashmir division, pushing the total infection tally to 58,244.
The government said of the total 12,97,329 test results available, 12,39,085 returned negative and 58,244 positive, which include 19,503 active positive cases while 37,809 have recovered and been discharged including the 747 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 5,30,708 persons had been put under observation including 31,140 in home quarantine and 19,503 in isolation while 63,886 people are under home surveillance and 4,15,247 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 12,167 cases, Budgam 4066, Baramulla 3609, Pulwama 3344, Anantnag 3013, Kupwara 2980, Bandipora 2963, Kulgam 2121, Ganderbal 2291, and Shopian 1892.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 9219 cases, Udhampur 1603, Rajouri 1773, Kathua 1502, Samba 1174, Ramban 904, Poonch 1087, Doda 1167, Reasi 656, and Kishtwar 713.
