COVID-19:8 die, 697 fresh cases in JK

 Eight more COVID-19 positive persons died during the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 1366 while Friday reported 697 fresh cases, taking the total number of cases to 86,754, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include five from Jammu division and three from Kashmir division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus has soared to 1366 in Jammu Kashmir, which include 916 from Kashmir and 450 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 328 deaths, Baramulla 134, Budgam 90, Pulwama 75, Kupwara 71, Anantnag 70, Kulgam 43, Bandipora 42, Shopian 33, and Ganderbal 30.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 236 deaths, Rajouri 45, Doda 40, Kathua 29, Udhampur 25, Samba 24, Poonch 22, 11 each from Ramban and Kishtwar, and Reasi seven.
On Friday, J&K reported 697 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 385 from Kashmir division and 312 from Jammu division, pushing the total infection tally to 86,754.
The government said of the total 19,52,850 available test results, 18,66,096 returned negative and 86,754 positive which include 8909 active positive cases while 76,479 have recovered and been discharged including the 838 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 62,36,33 persons had been put under observation including 24,165 in home quarantine and 8909 in isolation while 50,768 people are under home surveillance and 53,84,25 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 17,401 cases, Budgam 5582, Baramulla 5105, Pulwama 4370, Kupwara 4019, Anantnag 3905, Bandipora 3795, Ganderbal 3277, Kulgam 2382, and Shopian 2112.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 15,871 cases, Rajouri 3095, Udhampur 2551, Doda 2473, Kathua 2318, Poonch 2114, Samba 2053, Kishtwar 1660, Ramban 1485, and Reasi 1186.
