COVID-19:17 more deaths take JK toll to 895

Infection caseload 55,325

Seventeen more persons died of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours taking the number of casualties in J&K to 895, officials said. Monday also witnessed 1229 fresh cases taking the total infection count to 55,325, officials said.
The fresh casualties include nine from Jammu division and eight from Kashmir division taking total count from Kashmir to 735 and 160 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 252 deaths, Baramulla 113, Budgam 73, Pulwama 62, Kupwara 57, Anantnag 54, Kulgam 40, Shopian 29, Bandipora 29, and Ganderbal 26.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 92 deaths, followed by Rajouri 18, Doda 13, Kathua 12, Samba eight, Poonch six, Udhampur four, three each from Reasi and Kishtwar, and Ramban one.
On Monday, J&K reported 1229 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 837 from Jammu division and 392 from Kashmir division, pushing the total infection tally to 55,325.
The government said of the total 12,48,495 test results available, 11,93,170 returned negative and 55,325 positive which include 18,049 active positive cases while 36,381 have recovered and been discharged including the 644 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 5,25,963 persons had been put under observation including 42,090 in home quarantine and 18,049 in isolation while 55,018 people are under home surveillance and 4,09,911 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 11,797 cases, Budgam 3819, Baramulla 3495, Pulwama 3204, Anantnag 2919, Kupwara 2863, Bandipora 2883, Kulgam 2093, Ganderbal 2146, and Shopian 1881.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 8744 cases, Udhampur 1508, Rajouri 1521, Kathua 1360, Samba 1104, Ramban 839, Poonch 957, Doda 939, Reasi 617, and Kishtwar 636.
