COVID-19: With two more deaths, JK toll rises to 119

 Two more COVID-19 patients died in Kashmir on Friday, taking the number of casualties caused by the virus to 119 in Jammu Kashmir, officials said.
A 70-year-old coronavirus positive man from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, who was battling for life at Srinagar’s Chest Disease Hospital, died Friday.
Medical Superintendent CD Hospital, Dr Saleem Tak said the deceased was shifted from SMHS Hospital on Thursday and was in a critical condition.
“He was a case of bilateral pneumonia, hypertension, diabetes, COPD. He was on ventilator and succumbed today afternoon,” he said.
An 80-year-old man from Rajbagh Srinagar died at SMHS Hospital.
He had also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Medical Superintendent SMHS, Dr Nazir H Chowdary said the deceased was admitted on July 2 and was suffering from bilateral pneumonia and heart ailment.
With the two fresh deaths during the past 24 hours, the death toll due to coronavirus in J&K has soared to 119 including 104 from Kashmir.
Srinagar has witnessed 28 deaths, Baramulla 19, Kulgam 16, Shopian 13, Anantnag nine, Budgam nine, Jammu eight, Kupwara six, Pulwama four, Doda two, and Bandipora, Udhampur, Kathua, Poonch, and Rajouri one each.
