COVID-19: JK’s death toll crosses 1000 mark

With 14 deaths, JK toll rises to 1001; infection count soars to 63,990

 The COVID-19 death toll crossed the 1000-mark in Jammu Kashmir as fourteen more casualties were reported during the past 24 hours while Sunday witnessed 1457 fresh cases, pushing the infection tally to 63,990, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include nine from Jammu division and five from Kashmir division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to novel coronavirus has soared to 1001 in Jammu Kashmir, which include 769 from Kashmir and 232 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 264 deaths, Baramulla 116, Budgam 76, Pulwama 63, Kupwara 61, Anantnag 56, Kulgam 43, Bandipora 34, Shopian 30, and Ganderbal 26.
In Jammu division, Jammu district reported 134 deaths, Rajouri 22, Doda 18, Kathua 15, Samba 10, Udhampur 10, Poonch eight, Ramban six, Kishtwar five and Reasi four.
On Sunday, J&K reported 1457 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 817 from Jammu and 640 from Kashmir division, pushing the total infection tally to 63,990.
The government said of the total 13,96,729 test results available, 13,32,739 returned negative and 63,990 positive which include 22,032 active positive cases while 40,957 have recovered and been discharged including 692 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 5,43,541 persons had been put under observation including 25,983 in home quarantine and 22,032 in isolation while 67,149 people are under home surveillance and 4,27,376 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 13,057 cases, Budgam 4364, Baramulla 3844, Pulwama 3534, Anantnag 3252, Bandipora 3155, Kupwara 3207, Ganderbal 2560,
Kulgam 2184, and Shopian 1930.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 10,177 cases, Rajouri 2086, Udhampur 1797, Kathua 1719, Doda 1686, Samba 1391, Poonch 1356, Ramban 1077, Kishtwar 874, and Reasi 740.
