Salman Khan tweets, thanks Tourism deptt
Despite years of conflict, Kashmir has always been a warm tourist attraction and also cherished by many film makers.
Bollywood started its career in shooting movies in Kashmir back in 1949. Several Bollywood movies have been shot in Kashmir starting from Raj Kapoor’s Black and White film Barsaat in 1949 to Salman Khan’s Race 3 in 2018.
A huge number of old and new movies were shot in Kashmir. The heavenly beauty of Kashmir could repeat perfectly the heavenly emotion of romance.
Many Bollywood stars that have visited Kashmir who shot here in Kashmir have spoken about the beauty of Kashmir and had always thanked the people out here for tremendous support despite Kashmir being a conflict zone.
Since 2010 there has not been a single year when a Bollywood movie was not shot in Kashmir from Lamhaa (2010), Rockstar (2011) , Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (2013), Highway and Haider (2014), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Fitoor (2016), Tubelight and Jolly LLB 2 (2017) and Race 3 (2018) and many more to come.
Director Tourism Mahmood Ahmad Shah said that JK Tourism have started giving permission to shoot in Kashmir is a very recent phenomenon.
He said that its only 15 years back that movies are permitted to shoot here in Kashmir.
“Chiranjeevi, south Indian serials, Telegu serial and many advertisements are supposed to shoot here this year,” said Mahmood Shah.
Many directors and actors from Bollywood Industry who have shot their films in Kashmir till date have always appreciated JK Tourism for supporting their shoots.
Not long before when bollywood biggies like Abhishek Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu talked about the beauty of Kashmir and felt that there is no need to shoot in Switzerland when they already have Kashmir.
Also in 2014, Alia Bhatt posted some videos on all of her social networking sites about shooting in Kashmir and she considers Kashmir as the warmest place on earth.
Producer-director Mahesh Bhatt and famous Director Imtiaz Ali have always expressed their interest in shooting their forthcoming films in Kashmir.
Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film “Laila Majnu” has been shot in Kashmir and he has as always been very positive in shooting in Kashmir.
Mahesh Bhatt is also going to shoot his upcoming film “Jalebi” in Kashmir.
The Telugu serial Muddamandaram has been given permission to shoot in Srinagar, Gulmarg and Sonamarg, as have the shooting of songs for some Tamil films.
Besides, bollywood superstar Salman Khan thanked the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism for supporting 'Race 3' shoot.
Salman was shooting his upcoming film Race 3 in Sonamarg hill station in Jammu and Kashmir on a two-day schedule of the Remo D''Souza directorial, which is
"Thank you Jammu and Kashmir Tourism for all the support and the wonderful experience for 'Race 3'," Salman tweeted alongside a photograph.
It was Salman Khan’s second time visit to Sonamarg.
He has been there for over fortnight in Sonamarg last time shooting for Kabir Khan's blockbuster “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”.
