Praises Modi for demonetization

Yawar Hussain

Srinagar, March 20:

PDP Lok Sabha MP from Baramulla and senior party leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig Monday accused the separatist leaders of playing politics of deceit and “building their houses on the graves of young boys”.
Speaking during a workers convention at party headquarters here, Baig alleged that separatist leaders enjoy more VIP facilities than even members of Parliament.
“I crave for such facilities as an MP and pray to Allah that He bestows me with the same facilities which Hurriyat leaders enjoy when they travel to different parts of India like to All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in Delhi,” Baig said.
While terming India as a strange country which even loves those people who speak against it, Baig alleged that separatist leaders ask young boys to come out of their homes and pelt stones.
“These Hurriyat leaders don’t remember that they will also die one day and then they will have to stand answerable before God. They are unaffected because those killed and blinded are children of other people,” he added.
PDP leader attributed the loss of Congress party in the recent elections in Uttar Pradesh to the demonetization decision. “Prime Minister Modi reined in all the currency notes on which these big parties wanted to win elections.”
Baig said the main motives behind the PDP-BJP alliance have not been fulfilled in the past two years because of the untimely death of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and last year’s unrest.
Highlighting the development works in Jammu and Ladakh, Baig said the state government has many plans for Kashmir valley too and if the situation continues to remain peaceful between India and Pakistan, PDP-BJP government will be able to implement them in the remaining four years of its tenure.
Baig said in a democracy, people are not dependent on politicians. “Rather it is other way around.”
“The ministers here on the dais with me will all come before you after four years and you will be invigilators of their work. I know a lot of hospitals have no doctors, many youth are jobless and many people still crave for electricity but then we still have time to deliver and we will,” Baig said.
Hailing PDP President and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for selecting Nazir Ahmad Khan as the party candidate for Srinagar Parliamentary seat, Baig said, “The issues and the pain of youth can only be understood by a young leader like Nazir Ahmad Khan unlike his rival. I credit Mehbooba ji for selecting a candidate who doesn’t even have a personal bank account unlike other leaders who have properties in Germany and Australia.”
Appealing voters of Srinagar Parliamentary constituency to vote for Budgam based leader, Baig stressed on the importance of district Budgam in the upcoming polls as Srinagar district mainly witnesses election boycott and Ganderbal district has less votes as compared to Budgam.
Hailing Nazir for taking on NC president and former chief minister, Farooq Abdullah, he said, “Nazir is only fighting on the belief he has in Allah and then on you, the workers of PDP. He has no wealth and is like me when I was young and had to walk to school bare foot.”
