Our focus would remain on un-attended spots: SMC
Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) will start a two-day special sanitation drive across Srinagar from Tuesday onward till 29 July, officials said.
Chief Sanitation Officer (CSO), SMC Mudasir Banday told Rising Kashmir that on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha, they will be starting two-day special sanitation with main focus on ‘unattended spots’.
He said the sanitation drive would be carried in all wards of the SMC and they have already directed concerned ward officers across the city.
“In addition to our routine sanitation, our focus will remain to clean un-attended areas, black spots, open plots etc. and roadside sweeping for which water sprinkling vehicle will be availed,” Banday said.
He said people of Srinagar are requested to contact CSO and concerned Ward Officers for identification of bad spots so that they can be cleared at the earliest.
Banday said it was the responsibility of each citizen to ensure sanitation in their respective colonies and areas, apart from their homes.
“Everybody should actively participate to ensure Srinagar remains healthy and clean,” he said.
