Admin directs LAWDA to install CCTV cameras at check points

SMC to install 300 dustbins within week in Dal Lake areas

In order to curb the illegal ferrying of construction material in Dal interiors, administration is mulling to setup CCTV camera at prime locations in city.
As per the meeting of minutes released by divisional commissioner Kashmir’s office, it states that Lakes and Waterways Development Authority has been directed to set up CCTV cameras at several check points to curb illegal ferrying of construction material in Dal areas.
“The funds for the project will be granted under the Smart City and would be setup at 5 prime locations identified by district administration, Srinagar Municipal Corporation and LAWDA,” reads the document.
As per the document, the Vice Chairman LAWDA was also directed to float tenders for the purpose of Cadastral mapping of the encroachments.
It further reveals that Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) at Lam Nishat would be completed before August this year.
“Officials were also directed to repair the road near STP within week and later it would be macadamized by Roads and Buildings department,” reads the document.
For Brarinambal project, both Chief Engineer, Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED), SMC has been directed to prepare DPR for the sewerage plant within 10 days.
Apart from these issues, divisional commissioner also directed R&B to ensure the expediting of tile and other civil works at the pavements around the Dal Lake.
“SMC has been directed to ensure setting of 300 dustbins in the area within one week on all the locations identified by the DC Srinagar and VC LAWDA,” it said.
