Two porters were injured in an explosion at army’s 21 Field Ammunition Depot (FAD) at Khundroo village in Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.
“Accidental explosion in Kundroo Anantnag. Two injured porters being treated”, stated a tweet from the official handle of Jammu and Kashmir police.
The injured porters identified as Bilal Ahamad Ganai, 35, son of Ghulam Qadir of Pampore area of Pulwama district and Jahangir Ahmad Wagay, 18, son of Ghulam Qadir Wagay of Chak Achabal area in Anantnag district were shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment.

The doctors in the hospital later referred the injured duo to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for specialized treatment.
However, Defense spokesman, Rajesh Kalia downplayed any incident inside the ammunition depot.
He said the incident is in no way related to the ammunition depot and the accident has actually happened somewhere outside at a construction site injuring two labourers.
The ordnance depot of Indian army at Khundroo is one of the biggest in Kashmir and had caught fire in summer of 2007 leading to widespread damages in the area and loss of lives.
Authorities had to order evacuation in 15 villages within five kilometers of radius of the depot after the fires and explosions raged for days together in 2007.
18 people had died and many others injured in the blaze.
