17 succumb in JK, toll 364

With 450 cases, JK tally rises to 19,869

Seventeen more persons died of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours taking the death toll to 365 in J&K, while 450 fresh cases were reported on Thursday, officials said.

As per the government, 17 deaths were reported from Kashmir which includes 10 from Srinagar, Shopian three, Baramulla, Kulgam, Budgam and Jammu one each.

With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus has soared to 365 in J&K including 339 from Kashmir and 26 from Jammu.

So far, Srinagar has reported 113 deaths, Baramulla 68, Kulgam 28, Shopian 23, Anantnag 24, Kupwara 20, Pulwama 19, Budgam 26, Bandipora 12 and Ganderbal six.

Similarly, in Jammu division, Jammu has reported 17 deaths, Doda and Rajouri two each, Udhampur, Kathua, and Samba have reported one casualty each.

Coronavirus cases have also surged in Jammu and Kashmir.

On Thursday, J&K witnessed 450 fresh coronavirus cases which includes 367 from Kashmir and 83 from Jammu pushing the total infection tally to 19,869.

Today’s cases includes Srinagar 183, Baramulla 42, Jammu 38, Bandipora 33, Pulwama 32, Anantnagm, Budgam 20 each, Kupwara 16, Ganderbal, Rajouri 13 each, Poonch 12, Udhampur nine, Shopian six, Doda four, Samba three, Kulgam, Kishtwar two each.

The government said of the 6,27,387 test results available, 6,07,518 returned negative and 19,869 positive which include 7662 active positive cases while 11,842 have recovered and been discharged including 520 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.

It said, so far, 3,66,937 persons had been put under observation including 47,281 in home quarantine, 7662 in hospital isolation and six in hospital quarantine while 40,583 people are under home surveillance and 2,71,040persons have completed their surveillance period.

In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 4658 cases, followed by Baramulla with 1877, Kulgam 1493, Shopian 1416, Anantnag 1258, Kupwara 1085, Pulwama 1395, Budgam 1248, Bandipora 711 and Ganderbal 401.

In Jammu division, Jammu has 1027 cases, Kathua 511, Rajouri 646, Udhampur 436, Ramban 534, Samba 407, Doda 269, Poonch 209, Kishtwar 136 and Reasi 126.
