Srinagar, May 02: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Tuesday said the party will “again emerge as the savior” of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
He said this on the sidelines of the event while welcoming People’s Conference executive member and BDC chairman Mohammad Maqbool Bhat of Keegam Kupwara into the party, a statement issued by NC here said. Senior party leader Choudhary Mohammad Ramzaan, party leaders Imran Nabi Dar, Showkat Mir, Sabiya Qadri, JS Azad, GN Bhat welcomed Bhat into the party fold.
On the occasion, Sagar said, “NC will continue with its fight with the unprecedented array of challenges to the J&K people's honour and dignity. The present administration has turned out to be a complete nightmare for the people of the region. People understand the significance of a stable popular government, especially in Jammu & Kashmir, which is confronted with problems of varied nature.”
“There is no substitute to NC, ours is the only political force which is trusted by people. Our work in terms of poverty alleviation, free education, land to tiller, single line administration, Panchayati Raj speaks for it. Our ideology is wedded to the people, particularly poor workers, marginal traders, artisans, hawkers, small agriculturalists, and socially deprived sections of our society. It will remain so,” he said.
