National Soft Tennis C’ship inaugurated at Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 05: The 17th Senior National Soft Tennis Championship for men and women was inaugurated at the Multi Sports Activity Centre, Gindun Stadium Rajbagh on Thursday. Nuzhat Ara, Joint Secretary (K) J&K Sports Council was the chief guest at the inaugural function.

A press statement said that the J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association is conducting the championship in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, with matches to be played at different venues of Srinagar. More than 350 players, including both men and women, are participating in the championship.

The statement further said that N G Vegda, Executive Director Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India and Mushtaq Ahmad Zarger , Manager Gindun Sports Stadium Rajbagh Srinagar were the guests of honour at the inaugural function in which Dr. Gh. Hassan, General Secretary J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association welcomed the chief guest, guests of honours, participants, parents and guardians of the players, officials  of different departments including Information, Health, Jal Shakti, PDD Srinagar, Municipal Corporation, Security, Traffic, Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar, All India Radio Srinagar, press and electronic media persons and others. The championship will continue till 8th of March.
