MEIL workers moved to safer places from avalanche prone areas

Ganderbal, Jan 15: Authorities on Sunday shifted over 172 workers of Mega Engineering Infrastructure Limited to safer places owing to inclement weather conditions in the area.
 
The rescue operation was jointly launched by Army, Police MEIL,Civil administration,SDRF and other concerned departments on Sunday morning.
 
Officials told Rising Kashmir that 34 Assam rifles Wussan battalion along with Mega Engineering and infrastructure Limited employees,Police and SDRF jointly launched a rescue operation after 2 Avalanches hit Sarbal village of sonamarg in Ganderbal District in the lasttwo days.
 
Commander Brigadier Atul Rajput 3 sector ,34 Assam rifles Commandant Col Karakoti along with other army officials today wee hours in morning launched rescue operation in sarbal on cold wave to evacuate the workers and have been shifted to safer place 
 
In this operation they rescued 172 workers of construction company and 2 sniffer dogs also on job in this operation 
 
Project manager Harpal Singh said we have already stopped work till the weather improves and we have evacuated 172 workers with the help of Army ,Police and SDRF and forwarded to safer places.
 
To mention, two labourers had died when an avalanche hit Mega Engineering infrastructure Limited at Sarbalbaltal on Thursday.
