Leopard caught alive in Dawlatpora Chadoora

The wildlife department captured a leopard alive on Tuesday at Dawlatpora area of Chadoora tehsil in Central Kashmir's Budgam district.

Bashir Ahmad Bhat, a block officer from the wildlife control room in Chadoora, told the Rising Kashmir that after the wildlife department received information about the roaming of the leopards in the area, The Wildlife Department has reached the spot immediately.

"The wildlife department along with Budgam Police swung into action and were successful in catching the leopard alive without injury to anyone," he said.

Bhat This was a male leopard, 7 to 8 years of age, weighing more than 47 kg, which was roaming in various villages like Kralpora, Wathoora, and others areas from the last few days. The people will get relief in the area as this leopard has been caught alive.

"The leopard have been sent to the Dachigam National Park in Srinagar, where the wildlife department is properly taking care of these wild animals," he added.
