Budgam, Apr 04: A leopard was captured alive during Monday morning by the officials of Wildlife Department in Kralpora area of Chadoora in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Mohammad Yousuf Wani, in charge from the wildlife control room in Budgam, told the Rising Kashmir that the leopard which was roaming the Hyderpora, Rawalpora, and its adjoining areas was captured alive on Monday morning.
“We have received information from the local people that the leopard has been roaming in some areas of the Budgam and Srinagar districts. As we have fixed the cage near Doodhganga Water Planet Kralpora it got trapped” Wani said.
He said that during Sehri time on Monday, the leopard entered the cage and was successfully trapped without causing any injury to anyone.
“The leopard that we have caught alive is a female leopard, as it is the same leopard that was roaming in the various areas of the Budgam and Srinagar districts. The leopard has also been sent to the Dachigam National Park, where the wildlife department will take further care of the leopard,” Wani said.
