Leh, May 05: In a first, doctors at Sub District hospital Diskit Nubra of Union Territory of Ladakh successfully conducted Laparoscopy Cholestectomy on Friday.
An official told Rising Kashmir that the whole operation was done by Anaesthesia team was led by Dr Yangzin, Senior Consultant Anaesthesia and assisted by Dr Vishal, Anaesthesia Specialist.
Dr Chozung Lamo, Senior Consultant Surgeon performed the surgery. The operation was uneventful and the patient is haemodyanically stable.
Meanwhile, Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the entire team of doctors and medical staffs for the successful conduct of the first-ever Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy surgery at Sub District Hospital, Diskit Nubra.
The Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, a rare surgery, was performed by Senior Consultant Surgeon, Dr Chozung Lamo, with the assistance of Anaesthesia Specialist, Dr Vishal, and Senior Consultant Anaesthesia, Dr Yangzin, who led the anesthesia team.
Congratulating the team, the CEC also stated that this is a motivating and a positive step for the people of Nubra region to know that SDH is capable of performing such a rare surgery.
The patient who underwent the surgery is reported to be haemodynamically stable, and the operation was uneventful.
