Jammu, Mar 13: Based on their performance in the prestigious Vijay Merchant Trophy, J&K's talented U-16 right-handed batter Dhruv Sharma, promising left-arm spinner Jeevesh Gupta and gutsy seam bowler Mudasir Abdullah got the nod of Junior National Selectors for the National Camps, being organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) under the aegis of National Cricket Academy (NCA) at different venues across India.

"The Camps will be held in Mumbai, Surat and Anantpur from April 17 to May 11, 2023. These three players from J&K in U-16 age group have been selected after four players were selected in U-19 men's age group a few days back," informed Brig Anil Gupta, Member-Administration JKCA.

Dhruv hailing from Jammu apart from scoring few centuries and half-centuries, also scored (a double ton)-- 236 runs off 224 balls studded with 39 boundaries and 2 sixes, while Jeevesh from Jammu took a big haul of wickets including a few 5-wicket hauls and Mudasir from Bandipora with his seam and swing continuously troubled the batsmen and his six-wicket haul against formidable Tamil Nadu was simply brilliant.

"The young cricketers will not only have the benefit of honing their skills under the best coaches in the country but will also have the opportunity of learning things from their equally talented or even more talented counterparts from other States/UTs with whom they will rub the shoulders during the Camp," added Brig Gupta.
The Sub Committee Members while expressing happiness over the selection of these talented youngsters have advised them to make the best use of this golden opportunity provided to them by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
