JKHEU welcomes Mehmood Shah as Dir Handloom & Handicrafts

Bids farewell to Mussarat ul Islam

Srinagar, Jan 18: A delegation of senior leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir Handicrafts Employees Union headed by its President and President EJAC, Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam today welcomed Mehmmod Ahmad Shah as the Director Handloom & Handicrafts, Kashmir in Srinagar. Mehmood Ahmad Shah succeeded Mussarat ul Islam, who has now been appointed as Deputy Commissioner, Ramban.

All the employees of the Department of Handloom and Handicrafts, along with senior officers including Joint Directors Abdul Majeed Lone and Nargis Parveen; Deputy Director Deeba Qadri; Chief Designer, Aamina Asad; Assistant Directors Mushtaq Ahmad Shah and Ghulam Mohammad Najar and others also welcomed the new Director.

Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam, along with the other members of the Union expressed immense pleasure while welcoming Mehmood Ahmad Shah as the new Director of the Department. He said that the new Director’s association with the Handloom and Handicrafts department will boost the development and work culture of the department. He added that an individual of such calibre will help the department to enter into a new era of success and prosperity. “He has been transferred when the merger of Department of Handloom and Department of Handicrafts is still in its initial stages and many modalities are yet to be formalized. But, we are hopeful that he will prioritize the aspirations of employees as well as artisans and will not leave them in despair,” a statement from the union said.

The officers as well as the JKHEU also bade farewell to Mussarat ul Islam, who has now been transferred and posted as the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban. All the employees prayed for the safety and success of Mussarat ul Islam and bid adieu to him, the statement said.

The other members of the Union present on the occasion included Suhaib Munshi, Mohammad Yousuf Wani, Abdul Rasheed Khanday and others.
