JKFA nominates WaseemAslam as chairman of Election Committee

Srinagar, Oct 10: Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) held a meeting on Sunday, October 09 at the Grand Comfort Hotel, Srinagar and unanimously nominated WaseemAslamWani as the Chairman of Election Committee.
As per the statement the meeting was presided over by the President JKFA, Zameer Thakur.
The meeting was held to review the workings of the Association and to strengthen the Association by the quality of work.
Thakur gave the history of the Association and the challenges the Association faced from time to time.
The Members unanimously nominated WaseemAslamwani, Associate Members/ Sports Promoter as the Chairman of Election Committee for conducting Elections of the DFA’s/Zones of J&K UT.
The decision was taken in a General Council /Executive meeting of the Kashmir Province. The General Secretary read out a Communication received from JKSC requesting the Association to proceed with the election of DFA’s /Zones of JKFA as early as possible.
In this backdrop all DFA’s/Zones were impressed upon to communicate the dates for conducting elections within three days in their respective DFA’s/Zones.
The role of WasimAslam was highlighted who played the vital role in uniting the JKFA and all the differences which has arose within the fraternity, and cleared all doubts etc.
He stressed that all of us have to move forward unitedly under the umbrella of JKFA for the development of the game.
JKFA made a PowerPoint Presentation in the said meeting where a statement of accounts including the income and expenditure of activities which had been carried out for the last five years were shown to enlighten the worthy members.
After thorough discussion it was found there is no misappropriation of funds.
Nazir Ahmad Khan gave various suggestions and enlightened the audience about various measures to be taken to further strengthen the Association and to give maximum competition to the budding footballers.
One of the members of the Association while commenting on the work of the association said, "Many efforts were made to malign the association on false pretexts which hampered the working of the Association.
He stressed that everybody should contribute to take the Association to new heights.
Discussions were also held on various innovations to be initiated within the organization for the betterment of football and sports in general in the UT.
A similar meeting will be held in Jammu in near future as the Members from Jammu Province could not attend the meeting because of the holy festivals of Dussehraand Ram Navami, the official spokesperson said.
