J&K Wushu association to conduct selection trials for senior Wushu Team

Srinagar, May 23: The Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir is set to host selection trials on 25th and 26th May 2023 at the prestigious Wushu Hall in Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, Srinagar. The trials aim to identify talented senior Wushu players who will represent the state in the upcoming 32nd Senior National Wushu Championship. The championship will be held in Pune, Maharashtra, from 26th June to 1st July 2023.
All senior division players, both men and women, specializing in Taolu and Sanda, from the affiliated units of the Wushu Association of J&K, are invited to participate in the selection trials. To be eligible, players must bring their proof of date of birth certificate, a fitness certificate from a doctor, and passport-sized photographs.
A selection committee has been appointed by the Wushu Association of J&K to oversee the trials. The committee includes renowned Wushu coach Kuldeep Handoo, who has been honored with the Dronacharya Award, along with members Maqsood Rather, Kamal Kishore, Ajaz Hassan, Ajay Paul Gill, Ramees, Nisar Ahmed Mir, and Mohd Irfan.
Following the trials, the selection committee will choose the most promising players to represent Jammu and Kashmir in the 32nd Senior National Wushu Championship in Pune. It is worth noting that in the previous edition of the championship held in Srinagar, the UT J&K Wushu team achieved an impressive overall second place finish.
The Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir encourages all Wushu enthusiasts to participate in the selection trials and showcase their skills, aiming to secure a place in the prestigious national championship. The association hopes to continue the success of the UT J&K Wushu team and bring further glory to the state in the upcoming tournament.
