Srinagar, Jan 10: Lashing out at congress over the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, Bhartiya Janta Party District President, Srinagar Ashok Bhat said that their motive of unification of India would have been believed had they abrogated Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in their regime.
In a statement, Bhat said that it is the congress which broke India in two parts in 1947 and surrendered the gains made in the 1971 war to Pakistan.
If congress had removed article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in their regime, people would have believed that they wanted one united India, Bhat said adding that it is the BJP whose motive is “Aakh pradhan aakh nishan” of the country and a step forward towards it was abrogation of article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.
“Congress broke India but BJP united it. The people of India know about everything that congress has done right from Independence of India”, he added.
While Condemning the decision of National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti for participating in Bharat Jodo yatra, Bhat said that it is the Abdullahas and Muftis dynasties who ruled the Jammu and Kashmir by deceit and fraud right from the Independence  of India.
More than one lakh people have been killed, thousands became orphans and handicapped. All this is the outcome of policies of National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party who always preferred personal interests against the interest of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
Bhat said that Bharat Jodo Yatra is ostensibly a Bharat Todo Yatra in as much as Rahul Gandhi is trying to appease some section of people at the cost of majority, thereby, creating divide and hatred between the different sections and communities.
Bhat further said that he is sailing on two boats at a time which is bound to be submerged. Rahul Gandhi is acting as if he is working in a circus by changing its looks, sometimes as a young boy, sometimes as a preacher and sometimes as a social reformer.
Indian people of all the states have so far rejected this futile exercise of congress and is bound to be a flop show in Jammu and Kashmir too, he concluded.
