Hypertension is a significant risk factor for coronary artery disease and stroke, a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, and a major risk for dementia, chronic kidney disease, coronary heart disease, and heart failure

Hypertension needs to be adequately controlled to reduce these  events and mortality. Few lifestyle modification may decline the chances of  developing  Hypertension which   includes weight control, smoking cessation, aerobic physical activity, regular 30 minutes walk , reduction in dietary fat and less salt intake. Reduce intake of  Red meat , sugar, sugary drinks , refined carbohydrates and   take adequate fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish ,low fat dairy products, garlic and  take  adequate dietary potassium, calcium, and magnesium and avoidance of excessive caffeine.
