Farooq, Omer, Mehbooba, Altaf, others greet people on Shab-e-Meraj

Srinagar, March 11: Kashmiri Political leaders Thursday felicitated people on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Meraj.

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah greeted people on the annual observance of Shab-e-Meraj.

In a statement the NC President said the night of Meraj marks the ascension of holy messenger of Allah Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) towards heavens. “The Meraj is the great gift of Allah to Muslims; it is the most blessed journey of human history. Through this exalted journey, holy messenger of Islam (PBUH) taught humanity the merits of knowledge and how crucial it is to unveil the truths of nature. In his message on the occasion Omar Abdullah said that the holy night provides us an opportunity to pray and seek forgiveness and blessings from Almighty. 

The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti urged people to imbibe the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for making the world a better place to live in. In her felicitation message, Mehbooba highlighted the need for spreading the message of the Holy Prophet (SAW) which promotes love, affection, kindness and mutual respect among the humankind.

A party statement said that the PDP leaders, which include Gh Nabi lone Hanjura, Khursheed Alam Hameed Kohseen, Arif Laigroo, Rouf Bhat, Shafi Kundangar and others, have extended his heartiest greetings to the people of the J&K UT and prayed for the harmony among all people irrespective of caste, creed or region. The PDP leaders have also urged to take preventive measures in view of prevailing COVI-19 conditions.

In a statement Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone extended his warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Meraj. Lone expressed hope that the observance of the blessed night would further strengthen the bonds of amity, harmony and unity and be a harbinger of peace and prosperity in J&K.

Former Cabinet Minister and Apni Party Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir has felicitated the people of J&K on the eve of Shab-e-Meraj, describing the auspicious day as an occasion for seeking Allah’s blessings and forgiveness.

In his message, Mir hoped that this auspicious occasion would further strengthen the bonds of amity, harmony and brotherhood and be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir.

Jammu Kashmir Awami Itehad Party also extended greetings of Shab-e-Meraj and urged people to follow path of righteousness shown by the holy Prophet of Islam. The party spokesperson Sheeban Ashai while greeting people said, “We pray that this blessed night eases all the sufferings of Kashmiri nation, May the path followed by the Holy Prophet SAW(PBUH) be the guiding light for entire Kashmiri nation to persevere for their just demands and rights''.

Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, said that the night of ascension of the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) holds a significant place in the history of Islam. “Almighty Allah bestows his innumerate blessings during this most revered night and we should take advantage of this sacred night and pray for peace, progress and prosperity for the whole world,” he observed.

Awami National Conference President Begum Khalida Shah and senior vice president Muzafar Shah greeted people, especially the residents of Jammu and Kashmir on this sacred occasion.

Youth leader and social political activist Manzoor Bhat also greeted people on the occasion and prayed for peace and prosperity of the region.

Meanwhile, President J&K Anjuman Sharie Shian Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi has congratulated the people on the auspicious occasion of Meraj-un-Nabi (SAW). In his message of felicitation, Aga Hassan said the holy occasion should remind all of us the hard struggle that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) launched for the good of humanity and how he ascended the heights of glory as a result. Anjuman-e-Ahnaf Jammu Kashmir Chief Moulvi Akhzar Hussain also felicitated people on this auspicious occasion.
