Kupwara residents decry long process in availing benefits under Ayushman Bharat Yojana scheme
Kupwara, Jan 28: People in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district Thursday complained that they are facing tough times to avail benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojana (Golden Card) as they are being asked to go to each and every office to get the signature on the required documents.
The angry residents told Rising Kashmir that they are being forced to visit every government office which is time-consuming and said those who are applying to get these Golden cards are labourers and they can’t visit offices every day.
They said that their names are missing in the 2011 list and they fail to understand why their names are missing from the list.
Mohammad Akber, a resident of Handwara told Rising Kashmir that they are being forced to visit every government office. "From village level officer to district level officer we have to get the signature of the documents," he added.
He said if the authorities will conduct the village wise survey that will be better for them.
Another resident of Mawer Manzoor Ahmad told Rising Kashmir that after spending more than a week he got all the required documents and signatures from all the concerned officials. "However, I am unable to understand where I have to submit it now," he said.
He also said that if the authorities will give the link to Common Service Centers (CSC), which is available at every village people will be relieved.
Mohmmad Ashraf, resident of Magam said, "I am labourer by profession. I can’t go to these offices every day," he said and added that his Munshi is 12 Kms from his home and other officers are too away from his home.
People of the district have urged authorities to provide them some relief to avail the benefits of these schemes.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara Dr. Kouser Amin told Rising Kashmir that all the criteria set into applying for the same is going throughout the UT and is mandatory and said she can’t change anything in it.
She further said that those who have completed all the documentation process can visit the Common Service Centers (CSCs) for their registration.
