CS,DGP greets people on Gurupurab
Jammu, Nov 29: The Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam, today extended greetings to people on the occasion of Gurupurab.
In his message on the eve of Gurupurab, the Chief Secretary said that the festival celebrates the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev and teaches us to adopt the principles of truthfulness, righteousness, compassion and service to mankind in our lives.
The Chief Secretary hoped that the festival further strengthens the bond of brotherhood and ushers a new era of peace, progress, and prosperity. He also urged people to abide by COVID-appropriate behaviour during the festivities.
Meanwhile,Director General of Police, J&K Dilbag Singh has greeted the families of martyrs, serving police personnel, their families, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Gurpurab, the birth day of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
In his message, the DGP said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji imparted to the world the deep knowledge of eternal values of spirituality, humanity, morality, devotion and truth. He said that the values underlying the teachings of the great Guru should guide our endeavours to preserve the unity and secular outlook of our country. He also prayed for long lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
