JK's death toll surpass 1600 mark

Srinagar, Nov 17:Seven more COVID-19 patients have died in the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 1604, while Tuesday reported 572 fresh cases, that climbed the total infection tally to 103,581 officials said.

As per the government, the fresh casualties include four from Kashmir division and three from Jammu division.

With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus has soared to 1604 in Jammu and Kashmir, which include 1063 from Kashmir and 541 from Jammu.

So far, Srinagar has reported 399 deaths, Baramulla 158, Budgam 97, Pulwama 85, Kupwara 78, Anantnag 76, Kulgam 48, Bandipora 49, Shopian 36, and Ganderbal 37.

In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 283 deaths, Rajouri 48, Doda 50, Kathua 34, Samba 26, Udhampur 36, Poonch 22, Ramban 18, Kishtwar 16 and Reasi eight.

On Tuesday, J&K reported 572 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 381 from Kashmir and 191 from Jammu division, pushing the total infection tally to 103,581.

The government said of the total 26,77,771 test results available, 25,74,190 returned negative and 103,581 positive which include 5,585 active positive cases while 96,392 have recovered and been discharged including 568 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.

Tuesday's recoveries include 352 from Kashmir and 216 from Jammu.

It said, so far, 71,80,65 persons had been put under observation including 24,781 in home quarantine and 5,585 in isolation while 41,623 people are under home surveillance and 64,44,72 persons have completed their surveillance period.

In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 21,685 cases, Budgam 6502, Baramulla 7003, Pulwama 4883, Anantnag 4441, Bandipora 4256, Kupwara 4927, Ganderbal 3984, Kulgam 2556, and Shopian 2283.

In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 19,221 cases, Rajouri 3327, Udhampur 3054, Kathua 2627, Doda 2831, Samba 2294, Poonch 2353, Ramban 1770, Kishtwar 2202, and Reasi 1382.
