The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) Monday appreciated the administration for addressing various issues that were raised by the business fraternity during the ongoing coronavirus crises in the Valley.
KCCI President Sheikh Ashiq said the chamber had put forth various issues before the administration that has been diligently worked upon.
The issues include the shortage of water supply that was affecting around two lakh households in the city due to breakdown in the Mal Shahi Bagh Canal, distribution of masks in red zones and the return of stranded students in various parts of India.
"I am glad that Jammu Kashmir administration was quick in their response to address these issues," Ashiq said.
Ashiq said the administration is already distributing around 1.41 lakh masks in the red zones and have also started the process of facilitating the return of students from Rajasthan and other places.
KCCI last week donated one lakh safety masks to divisional administration to augment the government's ongoing efforts to tackle the spread of coronavirus.
"We would also like to urge administration to make more efforts in bringing all Kashmiris that are currently stranded overseas," he said.
Ashiq said that KCCI will also do a comprehensive exercise to estimate the economic losses incurring during the coronavirus lockdown in the Valley.
