Hindi Pakhwada concludes at NIT Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 06: The celebrations of Hindi Pakhwada concluded at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Thursday, and various activities were organized by ‘Rajbhasha Cell’ in the campus.
The valedictory ceremony of the 15-day event was presided over by noted broadcaster, multilingual poet, and author Dr. Satish Vimal, who was the Chief Guest in the event.
Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal was the Chief Patron, while Institute’s Registrar Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari was the patron of the event. 
Dr.Mudasir Ahmad Bhat (Lecturer Hindi Deptt. University of Kashmir), Dr.Bhartendu Kumar Pathak (Asst. Prof. Hindi Deptt. University of Kashmir, Prof. Arvind Shah (Freelance Writer and Poet) and Mr. Parijat Kaul (Consultant DD Kashir) were the special guests on occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dr. Satish Vimal said Kashmir has given the world a rich literature in multiple languages, and it was globally accepted and appreciated by the people.
“The valley has produced many great poets and scholars, including Agni Shekhar, Anand Wardan, ShamaKoul, and others who had a great contribution in the field of Hindi literature,’ he said.
Dr.Vimil said in Sanskrit, Persian, Urdu, Arabic, Hindi, and English languages period, great poets and authors, and saints were born in Kashmir. Their rich literature was accepted by the whole world. Even 70-80 percent of Sanskrit literature is credited to Kashmiris,” he said.
Dr. Vimal said the people of Kashmir have the potential to shine in any part of the country. He urged students to learn, and understand more languages and stated that we should not be biased with any language.
Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. Sehgal, said Hindi is a connecting language, and over the past several years, there have been continuous efforts to implement Rajbhasha on the campus.
“We are encouraging multilingual official letters. NIT Srinagar has recently added some Hindi books to the library so that students will get benefited from such initiatives,” he said.
Prof. Sehgal said no language in the world defines any particular religion or region and it is only a means of communication and bringing people together of all sects.
Institute’s Registrar, Prof. Syed Prof Kaiser Bukhari, said Hindi is among the world’s oldest languages and we should not underestimate its rich literature.
“The language is binding people together, and it does not belong to any particular religion, sect, community, or ethnicity. We should learn as many languages and their literature,” he said.
Prof. Bukhari said Hindi is not a new language for the people of Kashmir. It has deep roots in the region, which is visible in its literature and history, he said.
On occasion, Asst. Prof. Bhartendu Kumar Pathak, Prof. Arvind Shah, and Mr. Parijat Kaul addressed the audience and stated that Hindi is a connecting language. People should speak, learn and understand it. They said there is a need to promote and popularize Rajbhasha among the common people as it has its own history, legacy, and rich literature.
Hindi Officer Dr. R P Shukla (Assistant Professor, Civil Engg) said the RajBhasha cell of NIT Srinagar is working day and night to implement Hindi on the campus.
“I am thankful to my colleague and ex. Hindi Officer Dr. Ravi Bhushan for his efforts over the past one year. He has done a great job in the Rajbhasha cell,” he said.
Dr. R P Shukla also appreciated the effort of student coordinators for their hard work to make all events successful.
Later Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal and other dignitaries felicitated the winners with mementos and certificates.
Dr. H.S Pali, Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Dr. R.P Shukla, Dr.Brajendra Singh, Dr. Mohammad Aslam, Dr.Mohd Zubair Ansari, Dr. Amandeep Singh, Dr. Amrit Pal Singh, Dr.Sabzar Ahmad Batoo were the coordinators of the event. Mr. Mohammad Iqbal Dar and Mr. Shabir Mustafa were faculty coordinators for the logo design competition.
The student coordinators for the event are Ankur Pandey, Lokesh Sikhwal, Darpan Kumar, Amit Chaudhary, Atul Kumar Gupta, Harsh Raj Kumar, Subham Kumar Suman, Abhishek Arya, Ravi, Roshan Kumar, Jitendra Kumar Singh, Shiva Singh, Vishal Kumar, Shivam Kumar, Aman Kumar, Pramod, Mehrada, Rohit Gocher, Akash Kokhar, Jatin Gopal, Jatin Sharma, Ganesh Pathak, Priya Chaudhary
In the beginning, Dr. Nasir F Butt welcomed the guests, while the vote of thanks was presented by Dr.Prvan Kumar Katiyar (Assistant Professor (Metallurgical & Materials Engineering Deptt).
He expressed his gratitude to Chief Guest Satish Vimal, Special Guests, Director, and Registrar NIT Srinagar for providing unconditional support and encouragement in making the program successful.
