Gillani briefs JKP’smountain rescue teams

Srinagar June 21, 2022: Additional Director General of Police (Armed), S.J.M Gillani on Tuesdaybriefed 15 mountain rescue teams of Jammu & Kashmir Police before their deployment on routes leading to cave of Shri Amarnathji during forth coming Yatra.
According to a statement, while addressing the teams, the ADGP said that mountain rescue teams of Jammu & Kashmir Police have to play a significant role during this year’s Yatra, as a large number of devotees/ pilgrims are expected to visit the holy cave this year.
“Keeping in view the topography and weather condition of the area there is a very challenging task ahead for the mountain rescue teams, but I am hopeful that you will tackle every challenge successfully in view of their previous years association with this duty,” he said.
 Briefing the teams, the ADGP said that they have to take care of the needy pilgrims under all circumstances and do their best by all means. He said each member of the team must act very professionally during the pilgrimage.
The ADGP also inspected the mountain rescue equipment displayed by the teams on the occasion, the statement read. 
Earlier, the statement said, SuhailMunawar Mir,SSP Commandant JKAP-5th Bn. and DySP (Sports) APHQ J&K,KuldeepHandoo briefed the ADGP about the preparation and readiness of the JKP MRTs for their deployment during Shri AmarnathjiYatra.
