Er. B. N. Singhvisits JKMPCL Milk Plant in Srinagar
Expedites dairy project work and announces establishment of new dairy plant to benefit underprivileged farmers

Srinagar, May 11: Er. B. N. Singh (IAS), Mission Director of the J&K Dairy Mission, visited the JKMPCL's Milk Plant at Cheshmashahi in Srinagar to take stock of the activities being implemented under the Central Sector Scheme - National Program for Dairy Development.
During the visit, Singh discussed the project components with the officials of JKMPCL and directed them to expedite the execution of the work on a double-shift pattern to ensure timely completion.
In addition, Singh assured to facilitate the allotment of a land to JKMPCL in District Budgam of the Kashmir valley for the establishment of another dairy plant with a 5 LLPD capacity expandable up to 10 LLPD. This move is expected to help the underprivileged farmers in the region by providing them with better access to dairy products.
During the meeting, Singh also directed the JKMPCL officials to keep him informed in case of any help needed in the future for the execution of work on a fast-track mode. He further emphasized the importance of organizing awareness camps in rural areas to establish more village-level dairy cooperatives and benefit more underprivileged farmers through cooperative modal.
To facilitate this process, Singh said that district-level meetings shall be convened with concerned CAHO & Deputy Registrars to facilitate the process of identification of potential dairy villages and the formation of cooperatives thereof. The move is expected to benefit the region's economy and improve the livelihoods of farmers in the area.
