Srinagar, May 28: Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) on Friday said the government should formulate a strategy to end ongoing coronavirus lockdown in a phased manner stating the restrictions have pushed traders and transporters into hardships.

KTA President, Ajaz Shahdhar said after the implementation of COVID lockdown across Jammu and Kashmir on April 29 every business and other activities halted.

“Business sector has already suffered during the last two years which is evident to the administration,” he said.

Shahdhar said that traders are not in favour of any such decision which can endanger people’s lives. “But now is the time for the government, in consultation with medical experts and institutions, to consider unlock in a phased manner.”

The KTA president said as in the past the traders cooperated with the administration by risking everything they could. “Once again the traders will continue with this tradition, but the government should also think that trade has collapsed,” he added.
