Rajouri, Oct 27: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Tuesday convened a meeting with the concerned officers to review the arrangements being made for the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) in the district.
Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers for providing safe drinking water, sanitation, medicare facilities, besides making available critical care ambulances, adequate transport facilities.
He directed the PDD and PHE to ensure uninterrupted power and water supplies at all the major congregation sites, particularly at Tallab wali Masjid and Jamia Masjid Rajouri, on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad. He directed for provision of standby transformers, generators and mobile water tankers as a backup at these places.
The Health Department was asked to station a critical care ambulance at old Bus stand on the Eid Day besides other facilities like holding of medical camps at these locations during the course of Milad celebrations.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the EO MC to ensure cleanliness around the major mosques among other major places of worship throughout the period of Milad celebrations and ensure proper street lightings. He also directed the AD fire and emergency services to station a fire tender at the Jamia Masjid Eidgah on the scheduled day.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the AD FCS&CA,AD Food Safety and AD Legal Metrology to conduct market checking to ensure fair prices of basic commodities, besides providing the ration to the public.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers, religious leaders and traders to ensure that all the SOPs guidelines are followed on the scheduled day and appealed to the general public to strictly adhere to the COVID19 protocols to avoid the risk of infection.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP, Liyaqat Chowdhary, ACR, Mohd Ashraf, DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir, Executive Engineer PDD Rajouri, Munshi Khan, Executive Engineer, STD Kalakote, Hassan Mohammad, Executive Engineer PHE Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed, Tehsildar Rajouri, Mohd Rafeeq, AD FCS&CA, Mukhtar Ahmed Lone, AD Fire and Emergency Services, Maqbool Rana and EO Municipality Rajouri, Kailash besides traders and prominent members of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Tareekh-e Ghulam e Mustafa, Imam/Khateeb of Jamia Masjid, Milad Committee and president Beopar Mandal Rajouri.
