Srinagar, May 31: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president and Member of the Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah visited Hardu, Aboora, Tangmarg to express condolence with Provincial Secretary Advocate Showkat Mir on the demise of his mother. He also expressed condolences to Khwaja Mohammad Yaqoob Wani.
Joined in by senior party colleagues and local unit functionaries, Dr Farooq offered Fatiha for the departed soul on the occasion and expressed solidarity with the bereaved household in their hour of grief. He was accompanied by the party’s Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq and MP Justice (r) Hasnain Masoodi.
Meanwhile, Party General Secretary Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Zone Presidents Javed Dar, Ali Mohammad Dar, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, provincial VP Ahsan Pardesi, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar, district president Peer Afaq Ahmad, Social media in charge Ifra Jan, party leaders Sheikh Mohammad Rafi, Peer Mohammad Hussain, Ghulam Hassan Rahi, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Hilal Lone, Shafqat Watali, Dr. Mohammad Shafi, Riyaz Bedar, Adv. Shahid Ali, Irshad Rasool Kar, Adv. Neelofar Masood, Mir Mushtaq, additional Spokesperson Sheikh Ovase, party functionaries also visited the bereaved family and expressed their condolences.
Meanwhile, Dr Farooq Abdullah and the party’s vice president Omar Abdullah paid tributes to former minister and Speaker Hakeem Habibullah on his death anniversary. The duo said the late leader from Sopore worked sincerely towards the empowerment of people with commitment and passion.
“A true friend of people, he suffered a lot for the principles he held high. He cherished the ideals of democracy, human dignity and public cause throughout his life,” they said.
Among others, General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, and Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq also paid tributes to the late leader and recalled his contribution to the party.
