Downtown FA, Sopore FA win matches

Srinagar, Nov 24: In an ongoing NIFF Youth Football League 2021, three matches were played on Wednesday, first match between Kashmir United FA and  Barbarshah FA  ended in a 1-1 draw while Downtown FA thrashed Eidgah FA by 6:0 in a one sided match and in third Sopore FA defeated Burnhall FA by 3-0 here at Synthetic Turf TRC.
First Match of the day started with Kashmir United FA taking on Barbarshah FA which ended in a 1-1 draw as both the teams secured a point each. The Player of the Match was given to Asrar of Barbarshah FA by Chief Guest of the Match Mrs. Shobhna Sirohi Principal DPS Budgam.
Second match of the day was played between Downtown FA and Eidgah FA in which Downtown comfortably registered their victory by 6-0. Numaan Rashid from Downtown was declared Player of the Match and received his award from Irfan Ali Conservator J&K Forest Department and Zahid Ahmad.  
 In the third and the last match of the day Sopore FA defeated Burnhall FA by 3-0. The Player of the Match was awarded to Arsalan from Sopore jointly by Nazir Ahmad and Mushtaq, veteran players of Baramulla and Executive Members of NIFF.
 While speaking on occasion, Chairman NIFF Bashir Ahamd Malik said that NIFF is committed to bring back the glory of Football in J&K which has been lost during the past few decades. By way of organizing these tournaments and creating playing opportunities to all under aged players equally will definitely produce future stars of J&K.
 “We will be carrying out the same league matches in the Jammu Division also from next month,” he said.
 The League is the first of its kind of initiative taken by NIFF for providing an ample platform to junior age group players.
 The Youth Football League is being organized by NIFF J&K in collaboration with J&K Sports Council and is being sponsored by New JK Roadways.
 
 
 
 
IOT Zakura organises Table Tennis Tournament
Sports wing of Institute of Technology (IoT) has organised a Table Tennis Tournament for the students and staff at IOT Zakura Campus under the supervision of Assistant Director Sports Dr. Basharat Ali.
Many students and staff members participated in the event. This was the first offline event being organized after a long gap of pandemic.
4th semester mechanical engineering student, Abrar Ahad Rah emerged as the winner of the tournament .
Rafid Nabi 4th semester electrical engineering secured 2nd place and 3rd place was secured by salim yousuf
4th semester mechanical engineering.
Among the staff Dr Waseem Naqash Assistant professor chemistry department of applied sciences won the final match and Irfan Ahamed secured 2nd place. In another final Dr Irfan Faiq, Assistant professor Mathematics has won has won the final  and Ibrahim Ahamed has secured 2nd place.
Tariq Ahamed Zargar(ATO) was the guest  and Ritaz Qurashi (Proctor ) of IOT Zakura Campus was the Guest of Honour on the occasion and disturbed the prizes among the finalists of the tournament.
 Harbinder Singh Senior hockey coach and  Surjeet Kour Sports Assistant From Directorate of Physical Education and Sports was also present on the occasion as officials of the event.
