First slide

Unemployment in Kashmir is a reality. Every time a vacancy is announced anywhere, people rush with their resumes and application forms standing in long queues with mixed emotions of hope and fear. Every time it happens, selected few rejoice and the rest ends in despair. Girls and boys, professionals and non-professionals, MAs and MScs are baffled and perplexed. Every year thousands of students come out of University of Kashmir alone; of course one cannot expect our impoverished government to adjust them all, that’s impossible. So the most feasible option is to join the private schools which are mushrooming across the Valley. However, the miserable plight of a private school teacher is hidden from none. This poor fellow sweats hard and is doing a formidable job than his counterpart in government run schools but is foreshortened at the end of every month when he gets “peanuts” in the name of salary.

Thousands of IT professionals every year after working hard for years are left with no option but to leave their place and work outside to make their both ends meet as our government has no plan for absorbing IT professionals. While being a student, the life appears carefree, harmonious, hopeful and optimistic.  One feels confident that one’s qualification will bestow him with wings to fly over and cross the skies. However, once he steps out of the house everything fizzle out once he encounters horrid and petulant world, which is full of harsh realities. Expectations of parents, sense of responsibility and financial crisis overwhelmed the mind.

Student life is a state of bliss but when it is over, frustration overpowers him. Things get worst when matrimony gets attached with government job. Whether a girl or boy, person in public sector becomes first choice and that suffices the reason of seeing a common sight of aged bride and withered groom. Getting a government job although seemingly a herculean task however may not find it difficult particularly those who are blued eyed.

While facing this predicament everyone suggests that government should invite private investors in multinational companies to invest in Kashmir. At this point of time one should remember life is precious, a gift given only once. One cannot afford to waste or risk it. We must remember world is big enough to provide sustenance to every struggling soul. Blessed are those who are flexible and ready to work, for they shall shape the world. Work is worship no matter in what form, invest on yourself, work hard and don’t worry about the future. We need to work hard be it a small scale unit or a petty private job. Have faith in Allah (SWT) and never lose hope is the moral of the story. Use your talents and distinguish yourself. Don't waste your life in doubts and fears. Patience and perseverance have magical affects. In front of them difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.
